Every year the Refugee Welcome Picnic brings together 287 neighbors in León. I help organize it with 12 other volunteers, and this year our numbers are down. We need people for serving food, washing up and welcoming guests. Shifts are three hours long and you can pick the one that suits you. Food and drinks are provided for all volunteers. It's a family-friendly day, and our goal is to keep it free. No experience is necessary - we'll brief everyone at the start of the day. If you can come with a friend, even better. Please say in the comments which shift works for you. Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

  • So sorry you're going through this, Gabriel. I hope things turn around soon. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Blessings!

    • Great idea, hope you get there. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. God bless.

      • Best of luck. Your post was clear and honest. After 14 years in engineering I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Warsaw.

        • keep going, Gabriel. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Wish I lived closer to Galle so I could bring a meal.

          • Hope things get better soon. Your post was clear and honest. I have a 5 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
