Volunteer day: Refugee Welcome Picnic, Chicago
Give a few hours to the Refugee Welcome Picnic - everyone is welcome and no experience is needed.
🇺🇸 Illinois, United States466 views
Every year the Refugee Welcome Picnic brings together 237 neighbors in Chicago. I help organize it with 11 other volunteers, and this year our numbers are down.
We need people for serving food, washing up and welcoming guests. Shifts are four hours long and you can pick the one that suits you. Food and drinks are provided for all volunteers.
It's a fun day for all ages, and our goal is to keep it free. No experience is necessary - we'll brief everyone at the start of the day.
If you can come with a friend, even better. Please say in the comments which shift works for you.

Thanks for sharing this, Peyton. Gave what I could, wish it was more. After 14 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Love from Rockford.
