Volunteer day: Refugee Welcome Picnic, Bakersfield

We're short of hands for the Refugee Welcome Picnic; can you spare a morning?

🇺🇸 Bakersfield, California, United States1,343 views
Every year the Refugee Welcome Picnic brings together 353 neighbors in Bakersfield. I help organize it with 6 other volunteers, and this year our numbers are down. We need people for serving food, washing up and welcoming guests. Shifts are two to three hours long and you can pick the one that suits you. Food and drinks are provided for all volunteers. It's a fun day for all ages, and our goal is to keep it free. No experience is necessary - we'll brief everyone at the start of the day. If you can come with a friend, even better. Please say in the comments which shift works for you. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
