Volunteer day: Holiday Toy Drive, Dar es Salaam
Give a few hours to the Holiday Toy Drive - everyone is welcome and no experience is needed.

Every year the Holiday Toy Drive brings together 278 neighbors in Dar es Salaam. I help organize it with 10 other volunteers, and this year our numbers are down.
We need people for stewarding, first-aid support and clean-up. Shifts are three hours long and you can pick the one that suits you. Food and drinks are provided for all volunteers.
It's a family-friendly day, and our goal is to keep it free. No experience is necessary - we'll brief everyone at the start of the day.
If you can come with a friend, even better. Please say in the comments which shift works for you.

Stay strong, Florence. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
More neighborhoods should do this. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of Dar es Salaam.
