Every year the Community Soup Kitchen Night brings together 274 neighbors in Birmingham. I help organize it with 5 other volunteers, and this year our numbers are down.
We need people for set-up, serving, translation and clean-up. Shifts are four hours long and you can pick the one that suits you. Food and drinks are provided for all volunteers.
It's a family-friendly day, and our goal is to keep it free. No experience is necessary - we'll brief everyone at the start of the day.
If you can come with a friend, even better. Please say in the comments which shift works for you.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

So sorry you're going through this, Todd. Your post was clear and honest. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
Sending love, Todd. Shared this with my family. Love from Addis Ababa.
Hope it all works out, Todd. Great idea, hope you get there. Take care
