Volcanic eruption in Bogor: help the Hillcrest settlement rebuild
After the volcanic eruption, families in the Hillcrest settlement need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.
🇮🇩 West Java, Indonesia1,017 views
The volcanic eruption hit the Hillcrest settlement on 4 February. My home was one of 22 damaged, and 3 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,350 goes:
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $145
• Tools and labor for repairs: $290
• Food parcels for displaced families: $140
• Roofing sheets and timber: $775
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

So sorry you're going through this. This could happen to any of us. After 9 years in customer support I know how hard it is to ask for anything. Greetings from Bang Khen.
Take care. Looking forward to the next update. Please keep us posted. Thinking of Bogor.
best of luck, Yusuf. Your post was clear and honest. After 13 years in accounting I know how hard it is to ask for anything. All the best.
Shared it with a few friends. I went through something like this 3 years ago and strangers helped me out. Love from Machakos.
