I'm Vishal, 16, in Year 12. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study civil engineering.
I have a distinction average, I volunteer at a food pantry and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work.
I'm looking for an hour a week until April. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request.
Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask.
I hope life is good to you.

Best of luck, Vishal. Shared this with my family. I went through something like this 12 years ago and strangers helped me out. Greetings from Kozhikode.
Stay strong, Vishal. This could happen to any of us. Blessings
Best of luck, Vishal. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
Keep going, Vishal. Your post was clear and honest. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Greetings from Lucknow
