A scheduled valve repair surgery in May is out of reach without help covering $2,100 of the cost.

Caio was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair in February. The surgeon at Pelotas Regional Medical Center recommended valve repair surgery, and He is scheduled for May. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,800, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $2,100 short. my son has been in and out of Pelotas Regional Medical Center since February. The doctors say a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without valve repair surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,800 is more than we can find. While we wait, Caio struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Caio won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $2,100 goes: • Hospital stay (3 nights): $540 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $160 • Physiotherapy sessions: $95 • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $1,305 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
