For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Union Park, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,350. It will serve about 328 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $2,350 goes: • Materials: $1,750 • Permits and inspections: $115 • Safety equipment and signage: $340 • Tools hire and delivery: $145 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it. - Lisa

  1. Wanted to say thank you properly. 4% funded and I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts.

  2. Update from Haarlem: we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. We're at 1% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
