The roof at Joyce's home is failing; materials are donated and we need hands.

I'm a night-shift nurse living in Brampton. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 2 places, and the kids' bedroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $4,250, which isn't something I can pay. The good news: a local hardware store has donated the shingles and underlay. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for 4-6 people who can help over a weekend. Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is to be comfortable with heights or willing to help from the ground. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks. The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too. Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

    • Wishing you peace, Joyce. This could happen to any of us. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. God bless.

      • Take care. I hope things turn around soon. I went through something like this 12 years ago and strangers helped me out. Love from Rochester

        • So sorry you're going through this. Shared this with my family. Put this on a community board in Rome this morning. Blessings.

          • So sorry you're going through this, Joyce. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Lahore.
