I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a degree in social work at the Tehuacán Institute of Technology, and I'm two terms away from graduating. I have worked as a warehouse packer to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $1,250.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a top-ten-percent average, and my academic advisor has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the the Tehuacán Institute of Technology bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $1,250 goes:
• Textbooks and materials: $80
• Final term tuition: $380
• Outstanding tuition balance: $790
Glad we found this place.

is there anything that isn't money that would help Manuel?
Thank you. If you're in Tehuacán I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Good question.
Stay strong, Manuel. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. All the best.
Keep going. Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.
Thinking of you and your family. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust
