Juan is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a degree in civil engineering at León Polytechnic, and is one semester away from graduating. He has worked as a barista to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $450.
The registrar has said Juan can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Juan has a 3.6 average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Juan would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Juan isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $450 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $280
• Textbooks and materials: $75
• Exam and lab fees: $95

Rooting for you, Fernanda. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
Wishing you the best, Fernanda. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier.
Sending strength. Shared it with a few friends. It's not much but it's yours. Greetings from Zaria
Rooting for you, Fernanda. This could happen to any of us. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Thinking of León.
