Jaxon is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a pharmacy diploma at Brooklyn State College, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a library assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $4,600. The registrar has said Jaxon can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Jaxon has a top-ten-percent average, and an academic advisor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Jaxon would lose his place and scholarship eligibility. Jaxon isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Brooklyn State College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $4,600 goes: • Textbooks and materials: $220 • Final term tuition: $3,450 • Outstanding tuition balance: $930 I hope life is good to you.

  • So sorry you're going through this, Everett. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Take care.

    • sending good thoughts. Good luck with the exams, you've got this. My husband and I read this together.

      • Best of luck. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Greetings from Ekurhuleni.
