Hoa is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a master's in public health at Hồ Chí Minh City University, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $450. The registrar has said Hoa can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Hoa has a 3.8 average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Hoa would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Hoa isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Hồ Chí Minh City University bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $450 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $210 • Final term tuition: $180 • Exam and lab fees: $15 • Textbooks and materials: $45 Thank you for reading my story. - Vy

  • Keep going, Vy. Good luck with the exams, you've got this. Greetings from Xalapa!

    • So sorry you're going through this, Vy. Study hard! I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.

      • Keep going, Vy. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I went through something like this 5 years ago and strangers helped me out. All the best
