Gül is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a law degree at Bursa University, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,400.
The registrar has said Gül can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Gül has a top-ten-percent average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Gül would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Gül isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Bursa University bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $1,400 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $690
• Final term tuition: $650
• Textbooks and materials: $60
With deep gratitude,
