Tuition fund for Fernanda: a degree in social work at Baton Rouge State College
A first-generation student, Fernanda needs help covering tuition for the final stretch of a degree in social work.
🇺🇸 Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States1,421 views
Fernanda is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a degree in social work at Baton Rouge State College, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a tutor to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,650.
The registrar has said Fernanda can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Fernanda has a top-ten-percent average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Fernanda would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Fernanda isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $1,650 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $1,200
• Textbooks and materials: $195
• Exam and lab fees: $255
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

praying for you, Pedro. Study hard!
Sending strength. It takes guts to ask. Well done. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Thinking of Baton Rouge.
I hope things turn around soon. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Greetings from Sacramento.
