The Unity vacant lot needs a rainwater harvesting system - Galih's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Jakarta Selatan are raising $255 for a rainwater harvesting system at the Unity vacant lot.
🇮🇩 Jakarta Selatan, DKI Jakarta, Indonesia176 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $255.
It will serve about 419 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $255 goes:
• Materials: $185
• Safety equipment and signage: $65
• Permits and inspections: $5
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
