A community-led a youth football pitch at the Unity community hall that will serve 427 neighbors.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 427 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $400 goes:
• Materials: $310
• Permits and inspections: $35
• Safety equipment and signage: $35
• Tools hire and delivery: $20
