The Union vacant lot needs a youth football pitch - Susana's neighborhood project

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 30 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $310, and the remaining cost is $650. It will serve about 86 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $650 goes: • Materials: $450 • Permits and inspections: $70 • Safety equipment and signage: $85 • Tools hire and delivery: $45 With deep gratitude, Susana
