For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $2,500. It will serve about 198 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $2,500 goes: • Materials: $1,500 • Permits and inspections: $340 • Safety equipment and signage: $360 • Tools hire and delivery: $300 If you're reading this, thank you.
