The Sycamore vacant lot needs a covered market stall space - John's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Dallas are raising $900 for a covered market stall space at the Sycamore vacant lot.
🇺🇸 United States1,289 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $900.
It will serve about 206 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $900 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $155
• Tools hire and delivery: $510
• Safety equipment and signage: $235
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
