The old Union bus depot needs a skate park - Gabriel's neighborhood project
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a skate park - we need $2,950 for materials.
Anywhere in the world863 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Union bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,950.
It will serve about 544 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,950 goes:
• Materials: $1,950
• Permits and inspections: $230
• Safety equipment and signage: $290
• Tools hire and delivery: $480
Every share and every dollar helps.
