A covered market stall space: a volunteer-led effort in San Francisco
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a covered market stall space - we need $1,050 for materials.
🇺🇸 California, United States1,307 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $1,050.
It will serve about 589 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $420
• Permits and inspections: $420
• Safety equipment and signage: $210
I hope life is good to you.
