The old Liberty bus depot needs a skate park - María's neighborhood project
A community-led a skate park at the old Liberty bus depot that will serve 314 neighbors.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Liberty bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $970, and the remaining cost is $2,500.
It will serve about 314 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.

• Safety equipment and signage: $165
• Tools hire and delivery: $150
