The Liberty vacant lot needs a youth football pitch - Amelia's neighborhood project
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a youth football pitch - we need $3,550 for materials.
🇺🇸 United States1,299 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $3,550.
It will serve about 347 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,550 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $195
• Safety equipment and signage: $240
• Materials: $3,115
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

wishing you peace. More neighborhoods should do this. God bless
Hope it all works out, Amelia. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
best of luck, Amelia. More neighborhoods should do this. Wish I lived closer to Xalapa so I could bring a meal.
Rooting for you. Shared this with my family. I'm in teaching myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.
More neighborhoods should do this. We're a small family in Austin but we're thinking of you.
