The Harmony vacant lot needs a community garden - Neil's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Quezon City are raising $150 for a community garden at the Harmony vacant lot.
🇵🇭 Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines949 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Harmony vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $150.
It will serve about 161 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $150 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $45
• Permits and inspections: $65
• Tools hire and delivery: $40
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Take care, Neil. This could happen to any of us. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
