The Freedom vacant lot needs a rainwater harvesting system - Aishwarya's neighborhood project
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a rainwater harvesting system - we need $300 for materials.
🇮🇳 Thane, Maharashtra, India1,015 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 30 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $300.
It will serve about 542 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $300 goes:
• Materials: $170
• Permits and inspections: $50
• Safety equipment and signage: $55
• Tools hire and delivery: $25
Every share and every dollar helps.
