The Freedom vacant lot needs a community fridge - Aisha's neighborhood project
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community fridge - we need $500 for materials.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 523 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $500 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $100
• Materials: $350
• Permits and inspections: $50

You're not alone. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Naivasha.
