Volunteers in Chattanooga are raising $2,450 for a sensory garden for children with autism at the Freedom health centre yard.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 25 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,450.
It will serve about 483 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,450 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $430
• Materials: $1,850
• Safety equipment and signage: $170
