Tenant-rights advice for Randall in San Jose: a short consultation
Looking for housing-law advice in California: a refusal to repair mold.
Anywhere in the world655 views
My landlord in San Jose has given me a refusal to repair mold. I've read what I can online, but the rules are confusing and different sources contradict each other.
I'm hoping that someone with experience in housing or tenant rights in California could spare 20-30 minutes to explain the process, the deadlines and the documents I should collect.
I have my lease, all communications and photos organized. I'm happy to share them privately. I can't pay for a lawyer, so any guidance on free services in California would also be appreciated.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Good luck, Randall. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. It's not much but it's yours. Love from Alicante
Best of luck, Randall. I hope things turn around soon
Take care. Looking forward to the next update. Sent it to 30 people at work.
Take care. Hope this works out for you. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best!
Shared this with my family. My neighbor in San Fernando donated after I showed her your page.
