My landlord in Gazipur has given me a 40% rent increase with a 30-day notice. I've read what I can online, but the rules are confusing and different sources contradict each other. I'm hoping that someone with experience in housing or tenant rights in Dhaka could spare 20-30 minutes to explain the process, the deadlines and the documents I should collect. I have my lease, all communications and photos organized. I'm happy to share them privately. I can't pay for a lawyer, so any guidance on free services in Dhaka would also be appreciated. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

      • Hope things get better soon. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Greetings from Quetta.
