Tenant-rights advice for Jennifer in Manchester: a short consultation
A brief consultation with a housing advisor would help Jennifer understand their rights.

My landlord in Manchester has given me a 40% rent increase with a 30-day notice. I've read what I can online, but the rules are confusing and different sources contradict each other.
I'm hoping that someone with experience in housing or tenant rights in England could spare 20-30 minutes to explain the process, the deadlines and the documents I should collect.
I have my lease, all communications and photos organized. I'm happy to share them privately. I can't pay for a lawyer, so any guidance on free services in England would also be appreciated.
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Take care. Hope you get there. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Take care.
good luck, Jennifer. Hope this works out for you. After 12 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best.
Looking forward to the next update. Wish I lived closer to Lahore so I could bring a meal.
wishing you the best, Jennifer. Hope you get there. After 25 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Blessings.
