Tenant-rights advice for Eugene in Las Cruces: a short consultation
Looking for housing-law advice in New Mexico: a withheld security deposit.
🇺🇸 United States712 views
My landlord in Las Cruces has given me a withheld security deposit. I've read what I can online, but the rules are confusing and different sources contradict each other.
I'm hoping that someone with experience in housing or tenant rights in New Mexico could spare 20-30 minutes to explain the process, the deadlines and the documents I should collect.
I have my lease, all communications and photos organized. I'm happy to share them privately. I can't pay for a lawyer, so any guidance on free services in New Mexico would also be appreciated.
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Keep going, Eugene. Shared this with my family. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
Hope things get better soon, Eugene. Looking forward to the next update. My husband and I read this together. Take care.
