Tenant-rights advice for Denise in Riverside: a short consultation
Looking for housing-law advice in California: an order to leave for 'renovations'.
Anywhere in the world558 views
My landlord in Riverside has given me an order to leave for 'renovations'. I've read what I can online, but the rules are confusing and different sources contradict each other.
I'm hoping that someone with experience in housing or tenant rights in California could spare 20-30 minutes to explain the process, the deadlines and the documents I should collect.
I have my lease, all communications and photos organized. I'm happy to share them privately. I can't pay for a lawyer, so any guidance on free services in California would also be appreciated.
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Hang in there, Denise. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did.
Praying for you, Denise. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Love from Üsküdar.
Rooting for you, Denise. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
