Tangier earthquake relief - the Old Town neighborhood
The earthquake damaged 58 homes in the Old Town neighborhood. We are raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The earthquake hit the Old Town neighborhood on 25 August. My home was one of 58 damaged, and 11 families are still in temporary shelter at a borrowed warehouse.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $1,450 goes:
• Clean water and purification supplies: $150
• Food parcels for displaced families: $135
• Roofing sheets and timber: $730
• Tools and labor for repairs: $435
I hope life is good to you.

Hope it all works out, Salma. Shared this with my family. After 26 years in social work I know how hard it is to ask for anything. Love from London!
Stay strong, Salma. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Blessings.
Keep going. Hope you get there. Love from Tiruchirappalli.
sending love, Salma. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't give up. Take care
any update on how things are going in Tangier?
good luck, Salma. This could happen to any of us. My husband and I read this together. God bless.
Best of luck. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Thinking of Tangier.
Hope things get better soon. Great idea, hope you get there. God bless
I hope things turn around soon. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Greetings from Cincinnati.
everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double
a colleague of mine might know someone for this in Tanger-Tetouan. I'll ask around and let you know.
