Sade was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in July. The surgeon at Kaduna University Hospital recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and She is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,350, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $1,000 short. my wife has been in and out of Kaduna University Hospital since July. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,350 is more than we can find. While we wait, Sade struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Sade won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
