Surgery fund for Rose: septoplasty in Quezon City
Rose needs septoplasty at Quezon City Regional Medical Center and the family is $800 short of the hospital's estimate.

In March I was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal. My surgeon at Quezon City Regional Medical Center recommended septoplasty, and I have been placed on the schedule for May. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $1,050, and after what my insurance will pay, I'm still $800 short.
Doctors at Quezon City Regional Medical Center told me a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without septoplasty. I work as a market vendor, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $1,050 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a market vendor have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Recovery is expected to take about 3 weeks. I'll not be able to drive during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $800 goes:
• Post-operative medication: $55
• Hospital stay (2 nights): $250
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $340
• Physiotherapy sessions: $100
• Travel and lodging for the family: $55

Your post was clear and honest. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Greetings from Birmingham!
Hope it all works out. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Wish I lived closer to Recife so I could bring a meal.
Hope it all works out. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Sent it to 16 people at work.
