Olumide needs valve repair surgery at Zaria Regional Medical Center and the family is $850 short of the hospital's estimate.

Olumide was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect in July. The surgeon at Zaria Regional Medical Center recommended valve repair surgery, and He is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,200, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $850 short.
my father has been in and out of Zaria Regional Medical Center since July. The doctors say an aortic valve defect will get worse without valve repair surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,200 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Olumide struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Olumide won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $850 goes:
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $360
• Hospital stay (5 nights): $290
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $60
• Post-operative medication: $50
• Physiotherapy sessions: $85
• Travel and lodging for the family: $5
