In January I was diagnosed with a hernia that has become strangulated. My surgeon at El Paso University Hospital recommended hip replacement surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for April. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $11,750, and after what my insurance will pay, I'm still $7,100 short.
Doctors at El Paso University Hospital told me a hernia that has become strangulated will get worse without hip replacement surgery. I work as a retail assistant, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $11,750 is far beyond what I've.
