Surgery fund for Liza: septoplasty in San Fernando
Liza needs septoplasty at San Fernando Orthopedic Institute and the family is $150 short of the hospital's estimate.

In January I was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal. My surgeon at San Fernando Orthopedic Institute recommended septoplasty, and I have been placed on the schedule for April. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $190, and after what our health plan will pay, I'm still $150 short.
Doctors at San Fernando Orthopedic Institute told me a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without septoplasty. I work as a care assistant, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $190 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a care assistant have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 5 weeks. I'll not be able to lift anything heavy during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $150 goes:
• Post-operative medication: $60
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $40
• Travel and lodging for the family: $50
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Wishing you peace. This could happen to any of us. Please keep us posted. Thinking of San Fernando
Take care, Liza. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. I hope April is when things finally get easier. All the best
Shared this with my family. We're a small family in Nha Trang but we're thinking of you. Greetings from Nha Trang.
Hang in there, Liza. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Put this on a community board in Dayton this morning. God bless
