Kraków
Filip was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes in December. The surgeon at Kraków Community Hospital recommended valve repair surgery, and He is scheduled for April. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $4,900, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $2,950 short. my husband has been in and out of Kraków Community Hospital since December. The doctors say severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without valve repair surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $4,900 is more than we can find. While we wait, Filip struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Filip won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $2,950 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $1,800 • Hospital stay (4 nights): $530 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $130 • Post-operative medication: $165 • Physiotherapy sessions: $135 • Travel and lodging for the family: $190 If you're reading this, thank you.
