Surgery fund for Fasil: laparoscopic endometriosis surgery in Mekelle
Fasil needs laparoscopic endometriosis surgery at Mekelle University Hospital and the family is $350 short of the hospital's estimate.

Fasil was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair in June. The surgeon at Mekelle University Hospital recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and He is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $580, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $350 short.
my son has been in and out of Mekelle University Hospital since June. The doctors say a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $580 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Fasil struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Fasil won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $350 goes:
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $35
• Travel and lodging for the family: $25
• Hospital stay (4 nights): $195
• Post-operative medication: $25
• Physiotherapy sessions: $70
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
