Claire was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in July. The surgeon at Buffalo Regional Medical Center recommended valve repair surgery, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,000, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $2,950 short. my wife has been in and out of Buffalo Regional Medical Center since July. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without valve repair surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,000 is more than we can find. While we wait, Claire struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Claire won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
