Following a long illness in the family, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Sunday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $1,150. My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by November, we must leave. I have a teenager still in school at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else. I have started working weekend shifts, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here. The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done. Where the $1,150 goes: • First month of rent as a buffer: $660 • Utilities in arrears: $290 • Late fees and court costs: $200 Every share and every dollar helps. - Colm

Good news. Because of your gifts ($225 in total) I made the first payment toward utilities in arrears. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($140 in total) the plan for late fees and court costs is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely. - Colm
