Stop the eviction: 2 months of rent for Carmen's family in Tuxtla Gutiérrez
A termination letter arrived last week. Carmen needs $400 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Tuxtla Gutiérrez.

When the restaurant closed in August, I fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Friday a termination letter was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $400.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by December, we must leave.
I have a teenager still in school at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working two part-time jobs, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $400 goes:
• Late fees and court costs: $35
• First month of rent as a buffer: $260
• Utilities in arrears: $105
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
