Stéphane was diagnosed with prostate cancer in February. The oncology team at Lyon Regional Medical Center has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in May. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks.
Stéphane is 51, worked as a primary school teacher until February, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Lyon Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $8,100 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,050
• Scans and lab work: $1,250
• Transport to Lyon Regional Medical Center: $630
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $600
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,570
