Start-up fund for Yoko: reopening a bicycle repair shop after a fire in the building
Yoko lost a full set of tools to a fire in the building and needs $1,450 to reopen a bicycle repair shop and support the family.

For fifteen years I have run a bicycle repair shop in Kyoto. In November, a fire in the building took a full set of tools. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Wednesday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 4 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $1,450 goes:
• Shop repairs and licensing: $350
• Initial stock: spare parts: $220
• Replacing a full set of tools: $880
Thank you for reading my story.

Thinking of you and your family, Yoko. Hope the shop reopens soon. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Greetings from Ekurhuleni!
Sending strength, Yoko. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Take care.
Rooting for you. Your post was clear and honest. We're a small family in Contagem but we're thinking of you. Greetings from Contagem.
