Start-up fund for Ximena: reopening a bicycle repair shop after the demolition of the market
Ximena has run a bicycle repair shop for three years; the demolition of the market destroyed the equipment, and $850 will put it back on its feet.

For three years I have run a bicycle repair shop in Ciudad de México. In June, the demolition of the market took a full set of tools. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Friday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 7 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $850 goes:
• Replacing a full set of tools: $400
• Initial stock: spare parts: $220
• Shop repairs and licensing: $115
• Working capital for the first month: $115
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Sending good thoughts. Small businesses are the heart of Ciudad de México. Hope you're open again soon. I have a 16 year old who wants to send good wishes too. God bless

Sending strength. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. After 8 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Blessings.
