For fifteen years I have run a barbershop in Mumbai. In June, floodwater took clippers, chairs and mirrors. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Monday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 5 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go. Where the $250 goes: • Working capital for the first month: $45 • Initial stock: supplies: $130 • Shop repairs and licensing: $75 With deep gratitude, Rashmi

Thank you. If you're in Mumbai I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great.

    • best of luck. Looking forward to the next update. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Take care.

      • So sorry you're going through this. Shared this with my family. After 21 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Blessings.

          • So sorry you're going through this. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Take care

            • Hope this works out for you. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Thinking of Mumbai.
