Start-up fund for Manuel: reopening a street-food cart after a storm that collapsed the roof
A street-food cart in Barranquilla needs help replacing a gas stove and two refrigerators after a storm that collapsed the roof.

For four years I have run a street-food cart in Barranquilla. In July, a storm that collapsed the roof took a gas stove and two refrigerators. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Thursday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 4 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Replacing a gas stove and two refrigerators: $530
• Initial stock: ingredients: $180
• Shop repairs and licensing: $145
• Working capital for the first month: $195
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
Updates from Manuel
Thank you all. We're at 17% now ($178). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts.

Hope things get better soon, Manuel. Your post was clear and honest. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Greetings from Daegu
Sending love, Manuel. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Love from San Diego!
